Montage of dancersThe 2010 Dance Around the World Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 23-24 October at Cecil Sharp House in Camden Town, London, U.K. The details of the programme have not yet been decided but the general format of the event will be similar to that of previous years with continuous demonstrations in the big upstairs hall and workshops in the two downstairs halls and in the marquee in the garden. On Saturday and Sunday evenings there will be a choice of dances or another event. One of those evenings will be the spectacular Latin American Event. For any of the activities, either day or evening, no previous experience is needed and there is no need to come with a partner.

You can review archived material from previous years by clicking on the links on the right side of this page. The programmes from previous years can be viewed by clicking on the links at the bottom of the archived pages.

The prices for the 2009 event are shown on the home page to  give an  idea of the cost. We expect at most only minor changes. We keep the price as low as possible and still be able to pay for the basic costs of putting on the festival. Neither the organizers nor the various participating dance groups are paid. Nevertheless there are considerable expenses that must  be covered. All the performers have free access to all the activities of the festival and part of the spirit of the festival is the interaction of participants from many different countries and cultures. In general all the groups are from the rich cultural mix of the Greater London area, as there is  no budget to bring groups from overseas. Despite the lack of monetary payment, most of the groups look forward to participating in the festival again.
