Remember, most of the performing groups will be teaching a 1-hour dance workshop too.

Workshops, Performances And Social Dances

Dance Around The World will once again fill Cecil Sharp House with a non-stop programme of performances, workshops and social dances from 10.00am to 11.00pm on both days. This year we shall welcome over fifty performing groups representing cultures from regions as diverse as Japan, South-East Europe, North and South Africa, the Caribbean and North and South America. Dance Workshops are a very important part of Dance Around The World and there are lots of them! At least six performing groups will make their festival debut this year. On Saturday evening the event will host a sizzling Latin/American evening in the upstairs hall while, downstairs, Balkanplus and the renowned Balkan band Dunav will host an evening of Balkan dance for everyone to join in. On Sunday evening, the inspiring and energising international dance band Cloudburst will play for a pulse-raising Anglo- International ceilidh.

More Music Workshops Than Ever Before

We are presenting music workshops on both days of the festival so, if you play an instrument, even just a little bit, bring it along and play live dance music for live dancers!
